Letter to selected State Senators regarding various legislative bills, March 15, 2005

Dear Senator:

The Lancaster County Democratic Party wishes to express its support for two important bills; LB 239 and LB 627.

LB 239 by Senator Schimek would allow undocumented students who have graduated from Nebraska High Schools to get in state tuition to Nebraska Universities. This legislation is important to help young people get an education so they can benefit themselves and our communities.

LB 627 by Senator Howard requires school districts to create a policy on bullying. We agree that every school district should have a policy on bullying in order to protect all kids who are being harassed through no fault of their own.

Please support these bills out of the education committee and support them on the floor of the legislature.
