Dear Senator Last,
The Lancaster County Democratic Party is concerned about the USA Patriot Act and other legislation that works to erode the civil liberties that we all enjoy. We are concerned that these acts go too far in limiting liberties and will still not give us the security that we need. We would encourage you to find ways to provide security and intelligence without giving unnecessary powers to encroach on individual privacy and freedom.
We are particularly worried about the power of the federal government to access library records without permission or notification. Please take our concerns into consideration when voting on this and similar issues.
