Lancaster County Democratic Caucus
LINCOLN, NE
Lincoln, NE -- Over ten thousand people participated in the Lancaster County
Democratic Caucus Saturday, February 11, according to Caucus Chair, Vic Covalt.
This was about a 17% turnout.
Senator Obama prevailed with 7,355 supporters or 68% of the 10,799 who signed in
at 53 locations throughout Lancaster County.
Senator Clinton had 3,444 supporters which equals 32% of the turnout.
The Party turned in about 2500 voter registration applications from Caucus
participants.
"Our first ever Nebraska Caucus was a wonderful experience," Vic Covalt said.
"We worked hard and prepared well. The caucuses ran smoothly thanks to the
efforts of our hundreds of volunteers. Nebraskans finally had a meaningful role
in selecting the next president of the United States."
